Way back last month when it was memorial day we went up to American Fork with my grandma to take flowers to the graves of my grandpa and other ancestors that are buried there. It was a lovely day and it was nice to see grandma. (She is amazing). I was flooded with emotion that day just thinking about all the memories of going up to the cemetery with my family as a child but even just in recent years with my own children. I thought alot about how much i really do miss my grandpa and how glad i am that we know we will see him again. And when we see him again he will come running to greet us with open arms and wonderful grampaism like "nope, no empty chairs" or "not a dud among us". Anyway, before i get carried away and start crying on the keyboard, i just wanted to make note of what a great man my grandpa was/is. And that i am grateful for his example and love. That's just one of the few reasons why Ryan's middle name is Leland, after my grandpa. (This is a picture of the Lelands on the day that ryan was born, just a few days after my grandpa's birthday).
