Easter

At our house the Easter Bunny comes on Saturday and we celebrate the reason for Easter on Sunday. On Saturday morning however, my friend and i took another close friend to the airport so that she could fly home to her family in New York since her dad passed away. I was glad that the 3 of us could do that. It sort of made me reflect a little more on the wonderful reason we celebrate Easter. So since i had to leave about the time the boys wake up we had decided we'd have to do easter baskets and eggs later when i got home. This proved to work out for a few other reasons. The boys hadn't cleaned up the toys from the night before and the chores needed to get done. So while i was gone to the airport blake and the boys worked on getting the house cleaned and back in working order. Blake told them that the easter bunny didn't know where to hide things since it was such a mess. (that worked-- they cleaned a little faster this time.) When i got about 10 minutes away blake took the boys outside and had them helping him dig up the last of the carrots we planted last year. When i got home i went in and took care of getting the baskets and eggs all set up and came outside. The boys helped pick up the pinecones and clean up the yard so that we could have things done outside too. When it was time for lunch we went inside and the boys discovered their baskets. Which led them to the eggs and such for a great deal of excitement. Ethan said that it must have been that we were digging up the carrots and it made the easter bunny come back. As Blake was helping ryan find all his eggs each time ryan would find one he would exclaim "oh thank you daddy." And Blake would say you need to tell the easter bunny thanks. So he would then sort of yell to the ceiling "Thank you Easter Bunny!" The easter bunny did bring goodies and treats but the boys also got some outside toys. A ring toss game, a lawn bowling game, and a big thing of bubbles and chalk. And since we do so much cooking here at the house they each got their own apron with chef's hat. Blake told them to lick their lips like they were waiting for something yummy so that's the deal with the faces. It just so happened that Ethan was sitting right in front of the bunny face decoration so it looks like he has bunny ears. Sam was so excited about his gifts that he posed just for this picture. This is his excited face and his happiest happy face i've ever seen. Happy Easter everyone!
